Hidden Bed's AniManga Blog Debut Post!
Steam, School, and Grade Schoolers...

In Hidden Bed's Debut Post, I offer 3 great detective titles..

Case Closed (TV)

Kudo Shinichi is a seventeen year-old high school detective whom people call the "Modern Sherlock Holmes." However, one night after a date with his childhood sweetheart, Ran, Shinichi witnessed an illegal trade and, caught off his guard, was knocked unconscious and fed a drug that was supposed to kill him... but he woke up and found himself shrunken to a seven year-old. In order to track down the men who did this to him, Shinichi hid his identity and lived with Ran, whose father happened to be a hopeless detective, and with that came a series of murders and mysteries that he must solve.

450+ episodes and hell lot of movies and specials...

created by Gosho AOYAMA, the man behind YAIBA

MJ's Notes

I remember Case Closed, or popularly known as Detective Conan way back in my grade school days... shown in GMA7 A very long series with an awful lot of movies , specials and spinoffs.. (450+ ! Damn!)

The story itself was made to look like its for kiddies, but this one leaves everyone thinking after an episode.. since, a case always last for 2 or more..

But apparently, this show has a healthy mix of action and suspense... just kiddie actions I say...

Its animenewsnetwork rating is 7.4, not bad.. But I give it additional .5 for Ran's fanservice episodes...

Still, Shinichi can't go back his old self... too bad...

Tantei Gakuen Q (TV)

Dan Detective School is the Japanese detective school is a school recognized by government. Kyu is an ordinary boy with big dreams to became a detective, he attended to the school and became a member of Q Class along with Megu the girl with Photographic Memory, Kazuma the 5th Grade Computer Genius, Kinta, a martial artist an has sensitive senses, and Ryu, a mysterious Tokyo U Student. together they solved many case who bring them to face Pluto, the crime organization that should had been destroyed by Dan Morihiko.

45 episodes

Created by Fumiya SATO the author of "Young Kindaichi Files", a famous detective story and drawn by Seimaru AMAGI

MJ's Notes

This anime, was just new.. shown last 2003 in TBS..

I got 3 CLUES!

One. The show is pretty decent.. Once you got caught with.. you'll end up acting like Kyu even in School.. (I'm Kazuma.. nah.. don't mind me..) But there's something that bugs me... does class Q only take murder cases? As far as I know, real detectives just look for lost cats (Meow!), and lost people... with a little bit of action..

Two. This show is intended for Teenagers since, it shows blood and violence, but not occasionally... and Little kids can't handle their nosebleed because of Megu's fanservice...

Three. A.N.N.'s rating is 7.9, Not bad.. I give a 3 stars for Megu's short skirts and pantyshots

And the Killer is...

Steam Detectives (TV)

The scene is Steam City, a London-ish city which represents an entire civilization run by coal and steam power. Because of steam, the city is sometimes covered in a mist. Villains take advantage of the steamy mist to hide and execute their evil plans. Only a few dare venture into what's beyond the steamy mist. They are known as the Steam Detectives: Narutaki (and his convertible all-purpose pistol), his nurse-assistant Lingling, and his Megamaton robot Gohliki.

26 episodes

by Kia ASAMIYA, who created Silent Mobius

MJ's Notes

Only a little bunch knows about this anime... the people that had AXN when they were still in Grade School... When a newbie sees this one they'll think that this was a FMA rip-off... nah.. guess again... this one's older than FMA.. and I'm still looking for factors that FMA was based on this one...

If the two previous detective shows sports suspense and logical thinking.. this one's different... 99.9% pure action .1% thinking...

There's something really odd in this one... characters fight their alter ego.. Narutaki, fights a his counterpart... he, a cute mini-detective takes on a tall and handsome burglar...

His assistant, Gohliki (the steam robot) fights a mindless robot.. (Gohliki has a mind of his own.. dunno why?)

Another assistant, Ms. Ling Ling, a kind and very kawaii nurse with OMFG! huge missiles, takes on the very luscious, well endowed, evil nurse, Ms. Lang Lang... (actually, its her sister)

*note.. hey.. I found 3 points.. Lang Lang, looks a lot like FMA's Lust... I guess, Al was based on Gohliki, and Narutaki and Ed are always teased as Midgets.. and they both hate it...

So, if you want mindless action.. pick this one and you'll won't be disappointed..

A.N.N.'s rating is 5, aww.. too bad.. I'll give all my stars to its Manga for Ling and Lang's bathing scenes...
